Questions about pricing

Is Currensea accepted everywhere?

Currensea is a Mastercard travel debit card, which is accepted in millions of locations worldwide. You can use it abroad just like your existing debit card - to pay in hotels, shops, restaurants, and other places that accept Mastercard. We support payments in all international currencies.

How do I pay for the Premium and Elite plans?

The Premium plan costs £25 a year and the Elite plan costs £120 a year. Your annual payment will be collected via direct debit within 5 working days of signing up or upgrading to the paid plans.

Does Currensea charge for ATM withdrawals?

There are no ATM withdrawal fees abroad. However, it is not possible to use ATMs in the UK. For all withdrawals abroad over £500 per month, we apply a total markup of 2% on the exchange rate for the Essential Plan and 1% for the Premium Plan and Business/Freelance customers. For customers on the Elite Plan, only withdrawals over £750 per month have a 1% exchange rate markup.

Please note, some ATM providers may charge transaction fees. To save as much as possible, we always recommend using the Currensea card rather than cash when spending in restaurants, shops and hotels. Currensea can be used wherever Mastercard is accepted.
