Drinking alcohol in Qatar

Qatar has very conservative laws centred around alcohol consumption. We strongly advise you to obtain the latest foreign office advice here.

Qatar is regarded as one of the most expensive countries in the world to buy alcohol in. The local cost is approx. 50 Qatari Riyal (about £12) for a standard 330ml bottle. However, if you're paying on your bank card or a prepaid travel card, you could be paying a few pounds more in international bank charges per beer you buy.
